For SMEs and small businesses

Use AI across your business without leaking customer data

In a small business, everyone uses AI for everything: customer emails, staff rotas, order spreadsheets. Saiela takes the personal details out before anything is sent. You keep the time savings and lose the data protection headache.

Where personal data slips into AI

No one sets out to share customer data. It happens when AI is helping with the everyday stuff.

  • Customer emails and complaints

Asking AI to draft a reply sends the customer's name, address and order details with it.

  • Staff, payroll and HR

A rota, a payslip query or a sickness note carries employees' personal data, and health details are special category data.

  • Spreadsheets and exports

Pasting a customer list into a free AI tool to tidy or analyse it can hand over hundreds of people's details at once.

Swap and restore

AI does the job. Your customers stay private.

Saiela checks what you type into AI right there in the browser. Names and numbers are swapped out before anything is sent, then swapped back when the answer arrives, on your screen only.

What you type

Draft a reply to Jane Smith at jane.smith@example.com about the refund for her order, and offer to call her on 07700 900123.

What the AI receives

Draft a reply to [PERSON_1] at [EMAIL_1] about the refund for her order, and offer to call her on [PHONE_1].

Made-up example. These aren't real people.

Questions

What small businesses ask about using AI safely.

Does UK GDPR apply to small businesses?

Yes. Any business that handles personal data about customers, staff or suppliers has to follow it. Size changes a few details, such as the data protection fee you pay, but not the core duties.

How do we find out which AI tools our team is using?

Saiela shows you every AI tool used in the browser across your business, including personal accounts and new tools as they appear. You choose which are approved for client work, which are allowed for work with no personal data, and which are blocked.

Can we use ChatGPT for customer emails?

Yes, with care. Use a business plan that comes with a data processing agreement, such as ChatGPT Business or Microsoft Copilot with a work account, and keep customers' personal details out of prompts. Saiela swaps them for placeholders automatically.

We don't have an IT team. Is Saiela hard to set up?

No. Your team adds the browser extension in Chrome or Edge themselves. On Team you can also install it for everyone at once with Intune or Google Admin.

How much does it cost?

Saiela is free for one person. Team is £49 a month plus VAT for everyone in your business, however many people you have.
